1. Overview

The Yide YD-MDX is a fully automatic wooden wick inserting machine designed to take manual labour out of jar candle wick preparation. Working with a vibratory bowl feeder, an industrial robotic arm and a rotary table, it picks wooden wicks with metal clips one by one and inserts them into glass candle jars at a fixed position and depth. Insertion becomes a continuous line process instead of a bench operation, and every jar leaves the station with a centered, upright, clip-secured wick ready for wax filling.

2. Machine Composition

• Vibratory bowl feeder: bulk loading of wooden wicks, automatic orientation and singulation, delivering wicks to the pick-up position in one stable stream
• Robotic arm: pick-and-place unit that grips each wick and inserts it into the jar with consistent position and depth
• Rotary table: indexing platform that carries jars from the loading station through the inserting station to the outfeed, keeping the cycle continuous
• Conveyor section: jar transport between stations, so the machine can be linked into an existing jar line
• PLC control system: coordinates feeding, picking, indexing and inserting into one repeatable cycle
• Steel machine frame: stable base with the whole station laid out on one level for easy access and maintenance

3. Working Process

1. Bulk load — wooden wicks with metal clips are poured into the vibratory bowl in bulk; no pre-alignment by hand
2. Orient and feed — bowl vibration orients each wick and feeds them one by one to the pick-up position
3. Pick — the robotic arm grips the wick at the clip
4. Index jars — the rotary table advances a jar into the inserting station
5. Insert and secure — the arm places the wick into the jar at the set depth; the metal clip holds the wick upright and centered
6. Outfeed — the finished jar moves on to wax filling, cooling and packing, with no wick adjustment needed in between
